Buying Guide and Tips for Microwave Oven in India |
|
1) Purpose : Most of the people use it just for defrosting some frozen food, reheating or boiling. If this is your purpose try one of the basic models. There is no point paying for the extra features. A 15Ltr to 17Ltr microwave would serve its purpose. 2) Budget :The budget is one of the main deciding factors. A microwave would cost you within a range of Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 35,000. The capacity and the features provided with it decide the price of the product. 3) Capacity : The capacity of the microwave decides how much food can be cooked at one time. The higher the capacity more will be its cost. If you have a small family you will require a microwave with lower capacity and if the family is big you will need a higher capacity. Generally a family of 4 members will need 21 to 30Ltr capacity. 4) Turntable : It is better to get a microwave with a turn table otherwise you will have to stop and turn the dish every time. 5) Variable power control : Using the microwave always at full power is not always required. Hence you should have a variable power control. For simmering purpose you will require 50% power, while defrosting would require only 30% power. 6) Automatic sensors : Many new models are coming with these sensors which will tell you if your food is sufficiently cooked. |
